How Leaders Recommend Members

What Leaders Are Asked When Recommending a Member

Before a person can interact on DT Heart & Soul, a leader in their local congregation must recommend them, conducting reasonable diligence to confirm a few key facts:

  • The DTHS member is registering with the name by which they're known in your congregation.
  • The DTHS member is an active member in their local congregation who is generally well regarded and has a positive reputation.
  • The DTHS member is to the leader's knowledge not legally married. To be extra-clear, a separation and/or pending divorce is considered married.
  • The leader has no reservations with this person participating in DT Heart & Soul.

When a person registers for DT Heart & Soul, the leader they select receives an email patterned after the following template. The leader then taps or clicks the "Respond to " button to either confirm or deny the recommendation request.

  • "(memberFirstName) (memberLastName)" is the name by which this person is known in my congregation. (If this is not the case, please ask "(memberFirstName) (memberLastName)" to correct their name on DT Heart & Soul before you recommend them.)

  • (memberFirstName) is an active member in my local congregation who is generally well regarded and has a positive reputation.

  • (memberFirstName) is to my knowledge not legally married. (To be extra-clear, a separation and/or pending divorce is considered married.)

  • I have no reservations with (memberFirstName) participating in the DT Heart & Soul online singles connection service.

As part of the registration process, (memberFirstName) has agreed to abide by the DT Heart & Soul Code of Conduct, which outlines the expectations of behavior for members of the DTHS community.
